What is Chiropractic?

Chiropractic is the practice of diagnosing and treating musculoskeletal pain and injury using a non-invasive hands-on approach. Chiropractors use a combination of treatments catered to the specific needs of the patient to ensure proper functioning of joints, muscles and nerves. This can include spinal and peripheral joint adjustments/mobilizations, soft tissue therapy, electro-therapy and home care including stretching and strengthening exercises.

For many conditions, such as lower back pain, chiropractic care is frequently the primary method of treatment. Where other conditions exist, chiropractic care may complement or support medical treatment by relieving the musculoskeletal aspects associated with the condition.

Chiropractic care is a constantly evolving and growing profession. As new research, education and technologies come to light, chiropractors modify their treatments to provide the most up-to-date scientific and evidence-based approach.

What Can I Expect On My First Visit?

On your first visit, you will be asked to fill out paperwork describing your presenting conditions. Dr. Mondoux will then complete a thorough history and examination which will allow him to provide a diagnosis and subsequent treatment plan. The treatment plan will be catered directly to you and will consist of in-office treatments along with homecare stretches and exercises.

We ask that you come a few minutes early to fill out the paperwork as he may be on a tight schedule. You can expect to spend approximately 45 minutes in the office for your first visit. Follow-up visits typically last 20 minutes depending on the required treatment.
